Game 4 loss ends Yankees' season

well...just look at the subject and the picture, we knew something bad happened yesterday, especially for the Taiwan's fans. It seemed like "Chinese Taipei" had lost a decisive game. Indeed, I felt disappointed by Wang's performance, that's why it's tough to see throught all the game. I only watched the beginning(1~3 innings) and the last inning. so frustrated.....

The Indians are headed to the American League Championship Series and a date with the Red Sox as veteran Paul Byrd's crafty mound work and a fast start were enough to eliminate the Yankees, 6-4, in Game 4 of the best-of-five ALDS on Monday night in New York.

The Rookie

Unlike the movie (novel)-The Natural, "The Rookie" is based on true story. To everyone's surprise, Jimmy Morris (played by Dennis Quaid) threw 12 consecutive 98 mph fastball at his try-out and did actually become a major league player(Tampa Bay Devil Rays)at the age of 35. well, he might be the oldest rookie in major league history, which I'm sure about it, but his story is quite inspiring.

Manny happy returns

By Tom Singer / MLB.com
The situation: With the 3-3 cliffhanger seemingly settled in for the long haul, Julio Lugo is on second base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth as Ortiz strides up to the plate.

The decision: Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez issues an intentional walk to Ortiz, setting up a confrontation with Ramirez. The same move in the fifth inning hurt only mildly, leading to a sacrifice fly by Mike Lowell that knotted the score at 3.

The outcome: The strategy flies over the Green Monster and onto Lansdowne Street, as Ramirez powers Rodriguez's 1-0 pitch for a walk-off home run.
The analysis: "I don't know where the pitch was -- I'll have to see the tape -- but I guess it wasn't a good pitch. That's baseball. You have to go out there and challenge whoever it is. I fell behind and tried to get even on the count." -- Rodriguez

Rockies reach playoffs(Rockies to add more chapters to storybook year)

Gee...what a great game. A day off and the early rise today really paid off. It lasts almost 5 hours(broadcasting from 7:30 to 12:30). At the last minute, I almost gave up hope when I watched Hairston strike a two-run homer in the beginning of 13th inning. The worst was no body out. But something was happening so fast and so soon, the unknown momentum spread quickly through the bottom of 13th inning....and we started to celebrate to exhaustion...

Jamey Carroll's sacrifice fly in the 13th inning capped a three-run rally as the Rockies shocked the Padres to win the National League Wild Card. Colorado added a memorable chapter to its frantic finish, in which it won 14 of its last 15 games to reach the postseason for the first time since 1995.
